“Women Artists” Postcard Show

WCAMI is pleased to collaborate with the Colorado chapter on an exhibition and exchange of art postcards on the theme of “Women Artists”.  Each chapter will create 100 cards and send them to the other chapter, where they will be selected for exhibition.

You do not need to be a member to participate. Come and check us out. Honor your favorite women artists and have your work shown in Colorado.

The Colorado show will take place at the Bemis Library in Denver in December.  Our postcards will be an adjunct to their member show, and then (since sales are not permitted at the library) be moved to Colorado member sales.  We will host their postcards in 2017.  Proceeds from each show will go to the hosting chapter.

We will hold three free workshops to create cards and mail them en masse on November 1st:

SAGINAW:  Sunday, June 12th, 2 to 5 pm at Mary Foster’s studio, 4631 Hess Road.

HAMTRAMCK:  Saturday, July 9th, 1 to 4 pm at Hatch Art, 3456 Evaline.

ANN ARBOR:  Sunday, September 18th, 1 to 3 pm at Carol Morris’s studio, 912 Rose Ave.

We’ll provide the following materials, as well as light refreshments, but feel free to bring more:

  • Watercolors and acrylics
  • Glues
  • Markers
  • Rubber stamps
  • Stickers
  • Magazine images

Postcards should be standard size 4×6″, illustrated on one side and blank on the other, two dimensional.  Finished cards will be gathered at the workshops, or you may mail them in an envelope to Carol Morris, 912 Rose Avenue, Ann Arbor 48104, no later than October 28.

Postcard image by Carol Morris, go Carol!
